I don’t think there’s a one-size-fits-all answer to the question, but I believe that reading and general language exposure are the best way to get a feel for English, including grammar. I say this because, while grammar books might be able to teach you specific parts of speech or sentence structures, the general application of these things will likely be incomplete. I personally believe it’s useless to learn, for example, the NAMES of grammar (transitive verbs, etc). Most native speakers of a English will not know these things, but they will have strong grasp of the language and will generally use grammar correctly. Why? I think it comes down to exposure and constant practice. Open your eyes and years to the English around you; become aware of it and think about it as it comes. That’s my advice.
